Safety Containers for Storage and Waste - Magid
When your workers handle liquids that are flammable, carcinogenic, or otherwise dangerous to people and equipment, they need the proper safety supplies. Safety Cans and Safety Drums
Several options are available to accommodate hazardous material handling requirements. Per NFPA and OSHA, safety cans have a capacity of five gallons or less with a spout-style cover and spring-closing lid to secure them shut. They also have positive pressure relief to automatically lower internal pressure when they are exposed to fire or high heat. Safety drums and salvage drums have a much higher capacity — typically either 55 or 110 gallons — for when you have bigger storage needs or need to dispose of other containers.
Safety containers are made of heavy-gauge cold-rolled steel or galvanized steel with corrosion-resistant hardware to lower the risk of leaks. They typically have a yellow or red exterior to indicate caution. When dealing with hazardous waste, you may also want an aerosol can filter that removes harmful airborne contaminants.
